Before leaving, he allows for Sojiro to fight the swordsman and gives him his Nagasone Kotetsu katana. Understanding that Sojiro is a highly unpredictable opponent with no chi, Kenshin engages Shishio's righthand man through a battōjutsu clash, drawing their blades as fast as possible.
