Wanting the promised rematch, Aoshi attacks Kenshin who is disappointed by his corruption. Shishio allows Shinomori to fight while observed by Shisho and Sojiro. Sanosuke goes to destroy the ship while Saito fights the men in the ship until being confronted by Sojiro. In Kyoto, there are continuous struggles the Oniwaban, Kaoru and Yahiko deal with to prevent the fire but Usui easily ambushes Misao. Back in Osaka, an overwhelmed Kenshin uses Hiko's technique Kuzu Ryu Sen to fight back Aoshi's Kodachi nito Ryu.
