Takashi and Nyanko-sensei use an old station bus-stop to wait until the rain stops, only to encounter Matoba Seiji. The leader of the nefarious topmost exorcist clan tells a skeptical Takashi that he is evading a yokai that hunts down exorcists in rainstorms. He gives Takashi the cover on the birdcage he has as a huge yōkai comes but does not see them. The next day, Takashi returns to the Hakozaki mansion to help Beniko in finding out what the strange presences she had been feeling, despite her lack of spiritual powers...
