The episode focuses on the well-connected Zenbei Kuraya, formerly known as the samurai Masaomi Kuramoto. He has formed a "hunting club" and makes a pastime of killing women at night. Sumie Kanomata, now calling herself Hinazuru was the sole survivor of a massacre of women by Kuraya and his forces in the past.
